How will we work together?
We’ll work together in close partnership. You’re in charge (after all, you know the market best, and how to sell your proposition) but I’ll help you shape ideas into clear plans and tactical actions that will resonate in all formats. I’ll get hands-on with everything you need behind-the-scenes, whilst you take center stage and close deals.
What will we actually do, practically?
Before you sign any agreement, we’ll figure out a plan that includes ‘who’ you’re targeting, ‘what’ you’re offering and ‘how’ you’re going to reach them. In that process we’ll figure out what you’ve got that’s currently working, what needs to change, and what else we need to do. As a bit of a spoiler: it’s going to revolve heavily around LinkedIn, but I’ll help you actually make that channel work for you. Overall I’ll give you full visibility over the planned approach.
What are the limitations?
I believe in simplicity. This means I focus my attention on the key assets and approaches that are most likely to help achieve your sales goals. We’ll figure out what these elements are together and agree a plan. Through working with clients in an array of sectors, I know what’s worth doing and what’s a sideline distraction. If something falls outside my standard scope and you still want it done, I’ll let you know and will be able to recommend partners.
What results can I expect?
At the start of our engagement, we’ll set out goals for the programme. I’ll help you create clear dashboards that demonstrate your performance and what’s working. You want to see ROI, so we’ll make sure that’s easy to track. This is a partnership, and ultimately you’re in control, so I’m not here to “guarantee your results.” What I can do is help unlock the path to leads, opportunities, deals and growth. I’m 100% with you on the journey and dedicated to helping you succeed. Together we can achieve sales success.
What if I don't want to continue our relationship?
At the early stages of business, flexibility is critical. My service is about getting you to early sales and starting to scale. To be completely transparent – maybe Sideways will scale with you; perhaps that’s how my business grows. But if you’ve decided to leave, I can transfer everything over to you and support you in your onward journey.
How do you compare to a coach?
Coaches give you advice, but don’t pitch in with practical, hands-on work. I’ll certainly give you strategic recommendations and counsel, but will also take important work off your hands and get stuck in with content production, technical builds and practical activity.
How do you compare to a lead generation agency?
Many early-stage businesses pay for cold email, social and phone outreach services – often on a ‘pay on results’ basis. This works to an extent, but is unlikely to deliver the highest-value clients. It is also unsustainable and costly, compared to building your own capability.
How do you compare to a marketing agency?
Marketing agencies are generally good at creating your initial brand or delivering content on a retained basis – but can be far too expensive and inflexible for everything that early-stage businesses need. I’m not focused on delivering creative services; I’m focused on helping you achieve sales success.
How do you compare to hiring a staff member?
At some stage you’ll want to make a full-time dedicated hire. But before then, I can offer expertise and capacity at an accessible price-point. I’ll get you setup with the right starting point, allowing you to hire for the skills you really need, at the appropriate time. And when you do, my service could help them to hit the ground running.
